Karen Marshall

When did you start with WoS, and what was your job and where did you join from?
I originally started with Bonds in 2002 so have been with the company in one form or another for 22 years. I started as a receptionist and went onto work as Sales Ledger Clerk, then Sales Support Manager. I joined from British Telecom working in International Directory Enquiries.

What is your current job and what does your job entail?
Supply Chain Manager. I look after stock ordering for some USA suppliers along with centrally held stock in Manton. Forecasting for the wider business. Range listings for Field Sales accounts. SAP masterdata, including set up and pricing.

What part of your role do you enjoy the most?
My job is very varied, no two days are the same. I get to liaise with the Commercial & Field Sales teams, Buyers and CS trying to link projects together to help things run smoothly.

What’s the best thing about working at World of Sweets?
The best thing about working for WOS is the people. I’ve met some great characters over the years.

Something that nobody may not know about you? / fact about yourself?
Im a huge Nottingham Forest fan and have been going to matches since my Dad starting taking me aged 7.
Im also a regular blood donor and have donated 83 times so far.

What would you have done as your dream job if you didn’t work at WOS?
As a child I wanted to be a miner just like my Dad! He talked me out of it before I realised I didn’t like the dark or getting mucky!

Tell us about you outside of work?
As a mum of 3 I spend lots of time with family and as both my parents come from big families I have over 70 first cousins!

What is your favourite sweet?
Jelly Blue Babies.
